LPN to BSN Application Steps

How to Apply to the WVU School of Nursing

LPN to BSN Program on the Potomac State (Keyser) Campus

Note: Applications are accepted from November 1, 2025, through July 1, 2026, for fall 2026 admission, but on a rolling basis – apply early because we expect that LPN to BSN program seats will fill quickly!

Qualifications:

  • Have completed a board-approved, accredited practical nursing program,
  • Hold an active, unencumbered LPN license,
  • Have taken the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam and earned a total score of at  least 60%, and
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all college/university level work attempted, if applicable.

Application Process:

  1. Sometime during the BSN program application window (between November 1, 2025, and July 1, 2026), go to mywvu.wvu.edu/s/.
  2. Click on  Create New Account if you do not already have one, otherwise  Log in.
  3. Once you have created your account and logged in, click on  Start New Application, read and agree to the instructions, and click Next.
  4. In the Application Information section, choose Undergraduate, Bachelor’s, On Campus, Keyser (WVU Potomac State College), International (yes/no), High school/secondary school graduate, attempted classes at college/university after graduating high school (yes/no), what best describes you (Transfer Student seeking HSC program or Current PSC Student seeking HSC program, whichever applies), Program at WVU [(PSC-Nursing (LPN to BSN)], academic term (Fall 2026), and if you previously applied/attended and term, then Next.
  5. Answer all questions in each of the remaining sections, including Contact Information, Academic History, Nursing Supplemental, and Applicant Signature, clicking Next as you complete each section. Make sure you answer the required questions; incomplete applications will not forward to the next section.
  6. Note: There is a $20 (resident) or $60 (non-resident) application fee. Click Pay and Submit to finalize and submit your application.

Once your application is submitted, admissions will begin reviewing and processing your file. Be sure to  submit official transcripts from your practical nursing program, any college/university attended, and ATI  (TEAS), as instructed in steps 4, 5, and 6 on our website.

You will receive an admissions decision letter, via email, once the review process is complete.
