If so, the Pre-Investigative and Forensic Science program may be for you!
Forensic science is a marriage between science and the law. A forensic scientist must be able to apply the scientific method to analyze evidence and present their findings in court. A forensic scientist must be methodical, detailed and able to write and speak effectively.
Pursuing this program will require you to complete 60 hours of course work dedicated to prepare you for a forensic science program at WVU or another college or university. You will explore topics such as the scientific method, chemical concepts, writing experimental findings in lab reports and public speaking.
Career Outcomes
Fulfilling the degree requirements will prepare you to apply to the WVU Forensic and Investigative Science program. There you will have the opportunity to choose between three forensic science disciplines: Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry or Forensic Examiner.
This degree may also prepare you for application to forensic science programs at other colleges and universities.
