Students without Internet Access
As we move to online class instruction for all courses beginning on March 30, we want to share information about possible resources if you do not have broadband access from your home.
- You may be able to use your cell phone as a WIFI hotspot. AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile are enabling hot spots for 60 days at no extra charge ( note: this may not be a comprehensive list of providers).
- Some companies are offering free internet for qualifying students for 60 days:
- Spectrum - call 1-844-488-8395 or visit https://www.spectrum.com/browse/content/spectrum-internet-assist.
- Comcast Xfinity – available to low income students. Installation fees will be waived for new student households. Comcast will also give complimentary internet essentials service for 60 days, to new customers and will continue to provide a low income household rate of $9.95 for new and existing customers. To sign up, applicants can visit www.internetessentials.com or call 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.
-
If you cannot access the internet in any way, please work directly with your
instructors. For other questions, contact Academic Affairs at
PSCAcademicAffairs@mail.wvu.edu
or 304-788-6861.
Additional Resources for Students
Students who are concerned about paying $20 a month for an Adobe Creative Cloud software license to complete their spring semester coursework will now be able to (temporarily) download the software for free.
Please remember that no classrooms or other buildings will be open to you during this time.
