Honor Cords for Veterans and Active Military Personnel
Potomac State will formally recognize current and former military personnel who are participating in commencement. Red, white and blue cords will be made available to service members at the Office of Enrollment Services. If the student is not currently receiving VA educational benefits, the student will need to bring documentation of military service. Cords may be worn over academic regalia during the ceremony.
Commencement invitations are available for sale in the College Bookstore.
Loan Exit Counseling/Financial Aid
All student loan borrowers are required to complete exit loan counseling before graduating, transferring, and/or leaving school or after dropping below six-credit hours. Since repayment of student loans is a serious obligation, students must complete exit loan counseling even though they may be re-enrolling at West Virginia University, WVU-Tech, or Potomac State College or transferring to another college/university.
An e-mail will be sent to spring graduates in early April from WVU’s loan servicer, Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI), requiring completion of loan exit counseling.
A photographer will be available at graduation practice to take orders for individual photos of the diploma granting portion of the ceremony.
Graduates needing other accessibility services should contact their accessibility specialist. Guests who require accessibly seating will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
