Bachelor of Applied Science Degree with an Emphasis In Business Management

Potomac State College of West Virginia University agrees to articulate Blue Ridge Community and Technical College's Associate of Applied Science (A.AS.) and Associate of Science (A.S.) Degrees respectively in Business and Business Administration to satisfy the requirements for admission to Potomac State College's Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.)- Business Management Emphasis. Admission to the B.A.S. is restricted to students who have completed an A.S. or A.A.S. degrees in relevant subjects.

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College A.A.S. and A.S. graduates respectively in Business and Business Administration will receive transfer credits for not less than 60 of the 122 credits required to complete the B.A.S. with an emphasis in Business Management at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

To receive a Bachelor of Applied Science, Blue Ridge Community and Technical College graduates must complete 62 credits of B.A.S. coursework.  

However, in the case of the following B.A.S. requirement. Potomac State College will accept Blue Ridge Community and Technical College course work if a student completed a course parallel to the Potomac State B.A.S. requirement when completing requirements for the A.A.S. or A.S. respectively in Business or Business Administration at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. B.A.S.  course requirements.

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College graduates must complete the final 30 credit hours in residence at PSC. Students may also be required to earn up to 8 hours In their major field regardless of the number of hours or the nature of the course transferred.  

The MATH 126 College Algebra requirement at Potomac State College may be satisfied with the successful completion of either MATH 101 or MATH 154 at Blue Ridge CTC.

ln addition, in order to meet B.A.S. General Education requirements, Blue Ridge Community and Technical College AS and AA.S. graduates will be required to select a 3 credit lower or upper division B.AS. elective in the Humanities or Fine Arts (Not A.S. students), and to select six credits of upper division electives in General Education subjects. This requirement does not Increase the total number of credits required to complete the B.A.S., but does restrict acceptable course selections in some B.A.S. electives.

The following electives are recommended for Blue Ridge Community and Technical College students as Qualifying Electives:

•   A.A.S. students should take ECON 201, ECON 202, ACCT 202, and PSYC 203

•   A.S. students should choose PSYC 203 over SOCI 203 AU B.A.S. graduates will complete a total of at least 122 credits.

  •   AU B.A.S. graduates will complete a total of at least 122 credits.
