The School of Medicine at West Virginia University replaced the Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) with the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree before admission into the DPT program.
DPT prerequisite requirements include:

- Chemistry 115, 116
- Physics 101, 102
- Psychology 101, 241
- Statistics 211
- Anatomy 205
- Physiology 441 (BIOL 230 and 231 will replace this course)
- Medical Terminology
Graduation Requirements
In order to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Arts and Sciences with a major in Pre-Physical Therapy, a student must complete a minimum of 60 credit hours of required and elective course work.
